1938

The company was founded

Franz and Anna Kammerer, unemployed at the time, acted from necessity and registered  their own mass production manufacturing company.  They called it:

Fr. A. Kammerer Metallwaren - Massenartikel

The company started in modest facilities, producing parts for the clock making industry.

1947-1953

Clockwork production

In 1947 Franz Kammerer developed a movement that could run a fortnight after wound only once. These movements were installed in the ever so popular grandmother clocks of the time.
Only after World War II a small production run could be established again. The smallest movement for a cuckoo clock, invented in 1943, also contributed to putting food on the table for the large Kammerer family.

1953-1962

Starting again... for the 3rd time

Since the production of clock and watch parts does not contribute to the economic gain for the family, in 1953 Franz Kammerer decides to start all over again. The production of moving parts promises to find a broader customer base. Finally, the urgently required success was just around the corner. In order to expand the production area, the company purchases the neighbouring property in the early 1960s.

1962-1967

Starting production of a threaded parts

The so-called German economic miracle, the "Wirtschaftswunder", had its effect on the company as well. Volume of sales increased, and a contract for the production of threaded spindles is awarded. A capstan lathe is used to manufacture the spindles.
Through the acquisition of the neighbouring building, additional production space could be created.

1970

The company decides to specialize

The sons, Klaus and Wolfgang Kammerer assist their mother in managing the company. Sales are increased and the success of the company becomes clearly noticeable.
Space becomes scarce again and some employees move into rented offices. The first major investment is the purchase of a Waldrich thread whirling machine.

1978

Purchase of the old magistrate's court house

Finally, the purchase and renovation of the former magistrate's court house in Triberg, sufficient space is available to run an efficient production.
The strategic location of the company contributes to even further grow, and it is decided to become a training facility and provide suitable trainees with the appropriate apprenticeship.

1986 - 1988

The 2nd generation takes over...

The previously private limited company becomes a corporation The brothers Klaus und Wolfgang Kammerer become Managing Directors
Two years later Kammerer is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The staff has increased to over 60 employees.

1992-1994

State-of-the-art technology

Right of the start, both managing Directors insisted on using the latest technology. By the late 80s, terms such as EDV, CAD and CNC have become a household name at Kammerer.
With the introduction of the sons Achim and Peter Kammerer, the youngest generation has become part of the company. While Achim will be taking over the commercial side,  Peter will be overseeing the engineering side of the company in the future.

1996 -2001

Expansion of the production area

The company is growing fast. During two construction phases an additional production facility is being built. However, limited space requires building up, which is not always convenient, considering the dimensions of the products.
Nevertheless, this expansion is another push in the direction of more productivity. State-of-the-art production systems and machinery are being purchased to ensure quality. The QA system ISO 9000 has been introduced in the company.

2002

Future investments

Kammerer must expand again. Since this is not possible in the current location, the company uses the opportunity to build on their own property in the industrial area of Hornberg. In the new 5500m² facility makes organizational and logistics process is much easier. This is another big push forward for the company.

2003

Changing of the guards

Brothers Klaus and Wolfgang Kammerer, who have carved the fortunes of the company for nearly 35 years, are ready to pass the torch on to the next generation and slowly leave the daily business affairs.
Achim and Peter Kammerer become managing directors.

2006

Further expansions

Already four years after doubling in size the production area, the facility must be increased by 1400 m² again. The move of the part production for the automotive industry to the new building brings new synergy effects. Again, the production process can be optimized.

2008

Major investments

Financial commitments and investments in ever larger machinery are undertaken With the purchase of two large thread whirling machines as well as a 6-m thread grinding machine, Kammerer remains true to its principles, and stays at the technological forefront producing what ever is feasible.
Kammerer receives the EMAS - Eco-Management and Audit Scheme award in environmental management.
